Toplumların gelişmiş ülkeler seviyesine yükselebilmesi için eğitim ve öğretimin kalitesini geliştirmeli ve eğitimi bilimsel metotlara dayandırarak yapmalıdır. Kalkınmış tüm ülkeler eğitim sorununu çözmüşlerdir.
Atatürk’te Kurtuluş Savaşından sonra ilk hedefi eğitim ve öğretim olmuştur. Milli kültürü yükseltmek için büyük çabalar harcamış ve bu alanda büyük gelişmelere imza atmıştır.
Atatürk başöğretmen olarak 24 Kasım 1928’de Millet Mekteplerini açarak okuma seferberliği başlamış oldu. İşte bu mekteplerin açılış günü Atatürk’ün başöğretmenliğini kabul edildiği gün öğretmenler günü ilan edilmiştir. O tarihten beri her yıl kutlanmaktadır.
Çağdaş öğretmenlik hayattaki en kutsal görevlerden biridir. Çünkü insan yetiştiren ve insanın geleceğine yön veren bir meslektir.
İnsan eğitim sayesinde iyiyi ve doğruyu öğrenir ayrıca toplumla birlikte yaşamak için gereken uyumu da kavrar.
İşte bu yetileri insanlara kavuşturan öğretmenler kutsal olmayı hak etmiştir.Öğretmenlerimizin bu gününü kutluyorum başarılar diliyorum iyi ki biz varız........
