Bir adamın ayağına diken batınca ayağını dizi üstüne kor. İğne ucu ile diken başını arar durur, bulamazsa orasını dudağı ile ıslatır.
Ayağa batan dikeni bulmak bu derece müşkül olursa, yüreğe batan diken nicedir? Cevabını sen ver ! ( Hz.Mevlana )

Madem ki insan eşref-i mahlukattır, yani varlıkların en şereflisi, attığı her adımda Allah’ın yeryüzünde ki halifesi olduğunu hatırlayarak , buna yakışır soylulukta hareket etmelidir. İnsan yoksul düşse, iftiraya uğrasa, hapse girse, hatta esir olsa bile, gene de başı dik, gözü pek, gönlü emin bir halife gibi davranmaktan vazgeçmemelidir.(Hz. Şems)

Bütün dostları gezdim gördüm; dili muhafaza etmekten daha iyi dost göremedim.
Bütün elbiseleri gördüm; iffet ve sakınmaktan daha iyi elbise görmedim.
