Kur'ân-ı Kerim'in inmeye başladığı Ramazan ayı'nın 27. gecesi büyük bir ihtimalle Kadir Gecesidir. İslâm'da en kutsal ve faziletli gece Kadir gecesidir. Kadir gecesi, içerisinde Kadir gecesi bulunmayan bin aydan (83 yıl) daha hayırlıdır. Kur'ân-ı Kerim de bu gecenin faziletini belirten müstakil bir sûre vardır. Bu sûrede yüce Rabbimiz şöyle buyuruyor:
